What is RAMROD

RAMROD, along with Flashcode, Code of the Week, and SARNEG (Search And Rescue Numerical Encryption Group), is a part of SPINS (Special Instructions).

They provide authentication between Blue Forces within the kill box.

The SPINS describe the authentication procedures between forces e.g. Ground Force Commander and CAS-capable (Combat Air Support) aircraft for GAAI (Ground Assisted Air Interdiction); in SERER (Search, Evade, Resistance, Escape, Recovery) operations by combat rescuers or SARTF (Search and Rescue Task Force), in relief operations etc. and are usually used as backup for the ComPlan (Communications Plan) e.g. in case of a hard or soft compromise.

It consists of 10 non-repeating letters and changes regularly at irregular times.

SPINS are usually not noted, but only memorized.
