RAMROD Scenarios

Operational forces have to conduct most of their training in their own rooms and buildings. This is simply due to the fact that there are no rooms or buildings that are not used for other purposes or are empty in the long term, as this is economically unviable.

Occasionally there is an opportunity to use a building or complex that is being demolished or sold for an exercise for a limited period of time. Much rarer and only under considerable conditions it is possible to train in public areas.

Due to this fact, multifunctional training centers are built on training grounds, which always have the same problems: Despite well-intentioned attempts to be close to reality, they are nevertheless essentially sterile areas that have no credibility whatsoever and are often not multifunctional after all due to structural limitations.

Even if they can move the walls in a house combat facility at will, the impression never arises that the task forces would actually be in a university. In the field, this can result in a stimulus overload and be overwhelming if, for example, the peculiarities are not dealt with precisely enough due to a lack of resources.

In addition, the deployment is always limited in time. It is not only a logistical challenge to move forces and material to the facility, but also time consuming. Time which could be real time spent in training.

RAMROD scenarios allow responders of all types to bring relevant scenarios, locations and environments to their location. It is the intention of RAMROD to bring all relevant environments into augmented reality, so that even in Castrop-Rauxel the boarding of a container ship or in Wiesbaden the German embassy in Baghdad can be practiced.

The idea is simple: location-independent training with maximum technical possible realism.
