Unreal Engine

UNREAL ENGINE

RAMROD XR uses Unreal Engine 4

For RAMROD and its partners, only the market-leading products are good enough to be integrated into our portfolio.

Unreal Engine 4 vs. Unity

In the scene of games and application developers, there are basically only two heavyweights when it comes to graphics engine. Unreal Engine 4 and Unity Engine. While Unity Engine entered the market as early as 2005 to offer developers and users a common graphics platform, which primarily emphasized good usability and versatility, Epic Games entered the market with its Unreal Engine as early as 1998.

After decades of development, it can now be comparatively stated that both engines have their right to exist, but also their limitations. For example, the Unity Engine is excellently suited for beginners in the development of 3D applications, since it uses the easy-to-understand C-Sharp as a programming language.

The Unreal engine, on the other hand, is a powerful professional tool that puts experienced 3D developers to the test due to its complex C++ programming language, but is truly capable of rendering highly optimized 3D environments.

RAMROD and its partners have chosen the Unreal Engine because it provides the highest performance for our needs and those of our customers.

Unreal Engine 5 vs. Unity

RAMROD XR will implement the Unreal Engine 5 in 2021.
